This is the story of my daring quest to retrieve the "Blank of Blank" from the Dungeons of "Blank" and become an immortal hero.
If you've wandered onto this blog by accident somehow or because of "teleportitis" then you probably don't have a clue what I'm talking about.
Rogue is a single player dungeon explorer/crawler game and a famous icon of computer gaming history. It was originally released in 1980 and quickly exploded into its own genre known as "Roguelike".
Although, Rogue and many other early roguelikes only featured ASCII (text) graphics what made it truly popular was its randomly generated dungeons, items and permadeath. (no saves, no continues)
In 2009, PC World called Rogue one of the ten greatest computer games ever.
This blog was originally created as a journal of my efforts to retrieve the amulet in Nethack but I've since expanded it to encompass all things Rogue and Roguelike.
